Object in mirror are closer than they appear
sculpture - 2015
When the words reflect objects, they clash and they can deceive us. This sentence, visible on each side of the neon sign is an announcement and a reminder. Seen in the rearview mirrors of vehicles in USA, in Canada and in India, it warns the drivers that the convexity of mirrors can reveal objects smaller than they are in reality and the distance can be mistaken. Here taken out of its original context, it speaks to the passers-by of the objects which surround them and of the appearance of things. A distrust, a warming or simply the attraction of a sight seen a daily environnement, to cross maybe on the other side of the mirror such as in Alice of Wonderland.
